Old Cut Diamonds

Explore the timeless allure of old cut diamonds, including old mine and European cuts, prized for their larger facets and captivating candlelit sparkle. Each stone is carefully selected to showcase unique character and brilliance, perfect for restoration projects or bespoke jewellery creations.

A Different Kind of Brilliance

Long before the precision of today’s machine-calibrated cuts, diamonds were shaped by hand and eye. The result is a family of stones (old mine cuts, old European cuts, and transitional brilliants) that behave quite differently from a modern round.

Larger facets, smaller tables, and higher crowns give them a warm, candlelit fire: bolder flashes, softer scintillation, and a depth of personality that collectors and discerning buyers seek out for exactly that reason.

Timeless Transitional Brilliants

Hand-Selected Quality

Each diamond is carefully assessed for character, perfect for restoration or contemporary design.

Why Trade Buyers Come to Us for Old Cuts

Sourcing genuine old cut diamonds is harder than it looks. Supply is finite, grading is less straightforward than with modern stones, and condition varies enormously.

Since 1962 we have built the relationships and the eye needed to find them, and to know the difference between a tired stone and one worth owning. Every old cut we offer is assessed not just on paper but in the hand, because a grade tells you the measurements, not whether a stone has the life that makes an old cut special.

What We Hold

Our old cut stock spans old mine cuts, old European cuts, and transitional brilliants across a range of sizes, colours, and clarities, including stones suited to restoration, period reproduction, and contemporary settings that call for something with history. Certified options are available where appropriate, verified by GIA or IGI.
